We began our work as a subconsultant to JV Partners, a partnership between URS, Hatch Mott MacDonald & Arup, as well as AECOM, to handle Right of Way coordination for various segments of the California High Speed Train (HST).  BRI was instrumental in acquiring Permits to Enter for the JV Partners Team environmental studies (archaeological, seismic, soil, etc.) as well as ROW estimates on the Fresno to Bakersfield and Bakersfield to Palmdale segments of the proposed train route.  BRI was the HST representative and point of contact for all affected property owners in the proposed alignment assisting with community information meetings and scheduling survey and study appointments by coordinating with property owners and the agencies conducting the studies.  We have sent out over 4,000 Permit to Enter forms and maintain records for each parcel.

Madera to Fresno Section:  BRI provided appraisal services for approximately 250 parcels

Fresno to Bakersfield Section:  BRI’s role was to complete all ROW estimates for over 2800 parcels, as well as providing appraisal services for approximately 150 parcels.

In 2012, BRI was selected as a primary consultant to the California High Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) to begin providing land rights/property acquisition services and relocation assistance for properties in the affected right of way.  Currently, BRI is managing the ROW appraisals for 520 residential, industrial, and commercial parcels along the proposed HST as well as providing relocation assistance for hundreds of residents and businesses.
