Existing facilities in the transmission corridor west of SCE’s Devers Substation (near Palm Springs, California) are at full capacity. The West of Devers Upgrade Project will provide the additional capacity necessary to bring renewable and conventional generation being developed in desert areas around Blythe and Desert Center, California, to customer load centers west of Devers Substation. These significant upgrades will enhance electric reliability for all customers and help to make the power grid greener for California. The Project will consist of removing and replacing approximately 48 corridor miles of existing 220 kV transmission lines with new double-circuit 220 kV transmission lines, between the existing Devers Substation (near Palm Springs), El Casco Substation (Calimesa), Vista Substation (in Grand Terrace), and San Bernardino Substation.

BRI was retained to provide right of way services in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties to the 150+ properties affected by this project.
